Interview Tips

How to prepare for Interview ? Perhaps, this is a regular question asked by candidates selected in written tests conducted by banks & government organizations.Interview sessions are considered tough by many,as it involves speaking out.We have complied some commonly asked questions in Interview & methods to answer them.

Below are some of the frequently asked questions during an Interview. To answer them,we have provided some tips.

Question : Tell /Describe about yourself ( you will be asked this 90% )

Answer : Don't recite your resume.Tell about your education, experience, projects worked ,passion etc.,Make sure you complete this within 2-3mins.

Q: Why should we hire you into our organization

A : This would be perfect time to tell about your strengths, achievements & assets. Compare your profile with the job role & justify that you will be a best fit for the job. Answers like ‘This is a best company’ , I want a job in this field’ wont impress the interviewer.posted at www.bankexamsindia.com

Q : What are your strengths & weakness ?

A: Again this is also a commonly asked question to test how much you know of yourself.Make sure the Strengths you say have some relation to the job you applied.’I am very good in english’ can be said as ‘I have good communication skills’ ,

Weakness - ‘I don't have any weakness’ means you are not ready to talk about it.Similarly don't say something like, ‘Im short tempered & get angry very soon’ – It gives an impression that you are not fit to work in group.Say something which does not affect the working & also describe about the steps taken to overcome that.

Q: Where do you see yourself after 5 years ?

A: This question would be asked to check how much you know about the career path.

After 5 years,I want to be in your seat’ wont work in any case.Think realistically, understand the growth opportunities of that job & put it across to them.

Q : Why are you shifting from your current employer/company (for experienced people)

A : This would be a tricky question & you have to answer by choosing proper words.Give the real reason, but make sure you don't put the blame on your previous company nor onto yourself.

These are just few questions that can be asked during an Interview ,but the list is exhaustive. So be prepared to answer any question with confidence. But ,

Never ever get tensedIt pulls your confidence down & will throw you out of the competition.

How to prepare for Bank PO exams

Probationary Officer – This is the first entry point for starting a management career in banking industry.PO`s move up the ladder to occupy positions like Manager,General Manager etc., based on their performance & experience. That is the reason for the huge interest shown by graduates in applying for PO posts. We have explained in detail about the Exam process & Methods to prepare for Probationary Officer exam.

Examination : The exams for Probationary banks are almost same in all banks. They would have tow tests – Objective test & Descriptive test. The Objective test would have the following sections – Reasoning,Quantitative aptitude,Test of English & General awareness.0.25 marks would be reduced for each wrong answer as negative marking.

** It is necessary that candidates have to pass in each section of the objective test.

The descriptive test will expect candidates to write essay-type answers on questions given.Normally it would for 60mins & the test is only to qualify. The marks awarded are not added to final selection or ranking, but you have to clear this test(minimum 40% marks) as well.posted at www.bankexamsindia.com

Preparing for PO Exam : Candidates will have to answer 200-250 objective questions within 2 hours & this makes it a necessity for fast mind calculations, short methods to arrive at answers etc.,

1) Allocate maximum time for preparing Aptitude & Reasoning sections.Similarly, focus more on these sections during the test,as they are prone to confuse you often.

2) Quantitative aptitude will deal with basic maths – algebra, profit loss, percentage problems, arithmetic problems etc.Books of Std.10th would help in preparing for this.

3) Practice is the only key to crack Reasoning questions. Most candidates feel this part lets them down during the exam.Questions would be based on diagrams, statements, analysis etc, & will test your problem solving skills.

4) Test of English will have questions on grammar, vocabulary,synonyms,antonyms,fill-in-the blanks, sentence formation etc.,Books on basic english language would suffice.

5) General awareness needs no introduction as questions are asked only from general events, economic development, people & organizations.Read newspapers with special focus on banking & finance, money markets, global business.

6) Do not guess wildly & blindly as there is negative marks for each wrong answer.

Working on previous year question papers will help you develop speed, time allocation & understanding the type of questions asked.Below are few solved previous years question papers for PO exam, which can be bought online.
